(Bachelor of Unani Medicine & Surgery) [Kamil-E-Tib-O-Jarahat]
The Bachelor of Unani education namely, the Bachelor of Unani Medicine and Surgery (B.U.M.S.) shall produce Graduates, having profound knowledge of Unani Medicine along with the contemporary advances in the field of Unani Medicine supplemented with knowledge of scientific and technological advances in modern sciences and technology along with extensive practical training, as an efficient physicians and surgeons for the health care services.
ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION
The eligibility to seek admission in Bachelor of Unani Education (Bachelor ofUnani Medicine and Surgery) shall be as under-
- The candidate must have passed intermediate (10+2) or its equivalent examination from any recognised Board with the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English individually.
- Minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology at the aforesaid qualifying examination in the case of general category.Minimum of 40% marks in the case of the Schedule Castes, Schedule Tribes and Other Backward Classes.
- In respect of persons with disability candidate specified under the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016 (49 of 2016), the minimum qualifying marks in the said qualifying examination are as follows:
- In Physics, Chemistry and Biology shall be 45% in the case of general category and
- 40% in the case of the Schedule Castes, Schedule Tribes and Other Backward Classes.
- The candidate shall have passed Urdu or Arabic or Persian language as one of the subjects in the 10th Standard or in 12th
- The candidate who is not passed Urdu or Arabic or Persian language as one of the subjects in the 10th Standard or in 12th Standard shall have to study Urdu Language along with Arabic and Mantiq wa Falsafa (Logic and Philosophy) as a subject during the First Professional B.U.M.S. session.
- The Candidate must have qualify NEET 2022 examination.

The authority at its discretion may lower the minimum marks required for admission to BUMS course for candidate belonging to respective categories.
DURATION OF COURSE
The duration of the B.U.M.S. Programme shall be five years and six months as per following table.

INTERNSHIP
The duration of compulsory rotatory internship shall be one year and the student shall be eligible to join the compulsory internship programme after passing all the subjects from first prof. to final prof. examinations and the internship progarmme shall be start after declaration of the result of final prof. examination.
FEE STRUCTURE
Tuition Fee
Students shall be required to deposit Rs. 2,04,000/- per annum as tuition fee.
Other Fees
Enrolment fee and examination fee shall be as prescribed by the University.
DEGREE TO BE AWARDED
The candidate shall be awarded Kamile Tib o Jarahat (Bachelor of Unani Medicineand Surgery – B.U.M.S.) Degree after passing all the examinations and completion of the laid downprogramme of study extending over the laid down period and the compulsory rotatory internship extending over twelve months and the nomenclature of Degree shall be Kamile Tib o Jarahat (Bachelor of UnaniMedicine and Surgery – B.U.M.S.).
ATTENDANCE
- No student shall be allowed to appear at professional examination unless he has attended at least 75% of the lectures delivered and of the practical work done in each subject. The attendance shall be counted separately in each subject.
- A shortage of attendance up to 5% of the total numbers of lectures delivered or practical may be condoned by the principal for sufficient reason.
- A further shortage up to 5% may be condoned by the secretary on the specific recommendation of the principal.
- Application for the condonation of attendance on account of sickness must be duly certified by a Registered Medical Practitioner. Such application must be submitted during or just after the period of treatment.
- A student not allowed to appear in professional examination due to the shortage of attendance will have to attend the same class in the next academic session.
- Quarterly statements of attendance will be displayed on the notice board by the office of the principal. No individual notice in this respect will be issued to students.
- In case a student remains absent from the classes continuously for more than 30 days without assigning a valid cause to the principal, his name is liable to be removed from the college rolls. He may, however be re-admitted within the next fortnight by the principal on payment of the prescribed re-admission fee of Rs. 5000/
COURSE OF STUDIES
The First Professional session shall ordinarily start in the month of October and the following subjects shall be taught as per the syllabus laid down by the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine from time to time, namely:-
